🍝 Spaghetti Bolognese (Classic Homemade Favorite)

Spaghetti



This traditional meat sauce comes from Bologna, in Italy, and is loved in homes worldwide.


🧄 Ingredients

  • 12 oz (340g) spaghetti
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the Pasta

Boil spaghetti in salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

2️⃣ Make the Sauce

Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
Add onion and cook until soft (about 3–4 minutes).
Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

3️⃣ Brown the Meat

Add ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.

4️⃣ Add Tomatoes & Seasoning

Stir in tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
Simmer on low heat for 15–20 minutes (longer = more flavor!).

5️⃣ Serve

Serve sauce over spaghetti and top with grated Parmesan.
